Follow Little Freddie’s Step to Use Recyclable Baby Food Pouches.

As a responsible baby food brand, are you looking to reduce the environmental footprint but don’t know how?

Flexible food packaging bag is a sticking point for baby food brands, because traditional baby food pouches are made from multi-layered packaging materials – notably aluminum sandwiched between layers of plastic – which cannot be recycled.

However, flexible laminated pouches are still deemed the best packaging solution for baby food products for some benefits that are hardly replaceable:

  1. Flexible pouches keep food safe and fresh without the use of preservatives
  2. Flexible pouches are the preferred packaging format for parents because of convenience and reclosure features.
  3. Flexible pouches have a lower carbon footprint to create compared to glass or other alternatives.

So the question is, are there any pouch solutions fully recyclable?

Yes, we are proud to offer Recyclable Pouches designed for baby foods!
1. Made from Pure PP laminate, including the spout and the cap.
2. High barrier, high opacity, reliable protection for chocolate products!
3. Planet Friendly, Recyclable in the recycling stream#5.

Using our recyclable pouch, your products will look and function the SAME as your current products. But it is much MORE SUSTAINABLE as it can be recycled after use.
You can redesign your packaging with recyclable statement/logo to differentiate it from unrecyclable packaging.

Who’s using recyclable baby food pouches?

Little Freddie has taken a leading step to choose this packaging. They have identified the following benefits of using the recyclable packaging:

  1. The new packaging has no impact on product quality.
Little Freddie commented:
“Consumers will not notice any difference in size or shape. The key difference is the green banner stating ‘fully recyclable‘ at the top of the pouch and the OPRL ‘recycle‘ label of the back of the pouch. Customers can recycled the whole pouch with the cap on.”

  1. The recyclable pouch reduces the product’s environmental footprint.
Little Freddie has identified a carbon saving of 0.1kg (of product produced) against the existing aluminum laminated material.
Take Little Freddie’s Mighty Mango & Passion Fruit pouch for example, the climate footprint in aluminum laminated packaging stands at 2.5kg CO2e/kg. With recyclable packaging, the product comes to 2.4kg CO2e/kg.
“Scaled up, this carbon saving will make a significant difference to the total climate footprint, and this is before it is recycled.”
Little Freddie anticipates that in 12 months, the recyclable material will save over 350,000 pouches from landfill – the equivalent of 2.5 tons of plastic!

Say goodbye to unsustainable baby food packaging, lead the way for baby food brands on recyclable packaging!
